If your insurance is not listed above, Dr. Gering is partnered with Reimbursify, a company that checks the out-of-network coverage for your specific insurance plan and provides a Superbill that can be submitted to your managed care provider for reimbursement. If you're seeing a healthcare provider outside of your insurance network or for services not typically covered by your insurance, Superbills offer a straightforward way to claim back some of the money you spend. Reimbursify makes this an automated, streamlined process that shortens the time it takes to receive the maximum reimbursement for these services.
-
A Superbill is a detailed invoice that can be generated after services are provided, such as a therapy session or after the completion of a psychological evaluation. However, unlike a regular receipt, it includes more in-depth details like the provider’s information, a breakdown of the services rendered, specific billing codes, and the cost paid by the patient. This document can then be submitted as a claim to your insurance company for any services you’ve paid for out-of-pocket. This way, you can potentially get reimbursed a portion of the costs based on your insurance plan’s out-of-network benefits.
The amount patients get back from submitting Superbills can vary widely depending on several factors, including the details of your specific insurance plan, deductibles, type of service, and regional variation. However, on average, if an insurance plan covers out-of-network services, patients might expect to receive anywhere from 50% to 80% of the cost back after deductibles are met. Dr. Gering uses Reimbursify's resources to accurately and quickly check your plan while on the screener phone call to see what percentage your plan covers. -
Dr. Gering will use Reimbursify, with your permission, to not only check benefits prior to your appointment, but to also submit all documentation as requested by your managed care company to expedite the reimbursement process. If you want, Dr. Gering can automatically submit the bills for you, all you have to do is wait. No paperwork for you to track, nothing to file, no calling your company and waiting on hold for hours. Instead, it's an entirely automated process that both the provider and patient can see online as it moves through the system. However, if you want to submit your own Superbill provided by Dr. Gering to your insurance company, this is the process without using Reimbursify:
Know your benefits: before you plan on submitting a Superbill, check your insurance benefits for out-of-network coverage. Log in to your account on your insurance provider’s website for information regarding the benefits available to you and coverage for your specific plan. A more detailed explanation of benefits can typically be obtained through a phone call with a patient services representative. Contact information can be found on your insurance card or on the company website. Understanding your current coverage will help you complete the process with relative ease.
Submit your claim: Once services are provided and you have the Superbill from Dr. Gering, make sure all of the information is accurate and comprehensive. Most insurance companies request the same information on their claim documents, but check with your insurance provider for any additional information that needs to be included. Note: while insurance providers will typically reimburse ongoing therapy each week after Superbills are submitted, they will not reimburse for psychological evaluations until the entire assessment process is completed. Dr. Gering will therefore generate only one Superbill that lists a full breakdown of the evaluation dates and services after the final feedback session is finished.
Track your claim and receive reimbursement: Insurance claims can take weeks to process. Keep track of your submission and stay in contact with your insurance provider to ensure that it is being processed. Once it is completed and approved, you’ll receive a check from your company.
If there are any difficulties or complications associated with your claim submission that require my attention, please alert me as soon as possible so that I may assist you in the process.
